Family Functions ("we," "our," or "us") is a family calendar and organization app built by Goodrich Studios. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Family Functions, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree, please discontinue use and contact us to delete your account.

Information you provide directly:
Name and email address when creating an account
Calendar names, event titles, dates, descriptions, and recurrence settings you create
Family member names and roles within shared calendars
Invitation email addresses when inviting family members
Information collected automatically:
Device push notification token (to deliver calendar reminders)
Basic app usage data through Firebase (crash reports, performance metrics)
Information from sign-in providers:
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those services. We do not receive your password or payment information from them.

Family Functions uses the following third-party services to operate:
Google Firebase — Account authentication, database, push notifications, and crash reporting

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send event reminders and family calendar notifications. Your device's push notification token is stored in our database and used solely to deliver these messages.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the app.

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We do not operate our own servers.
Access to your calendar data is restricted to you and the family members you explicitly invite. Family members with "reader" access cannot modify events. We do not have access to the contents of your personal calendars.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and calendar data are removed from our systems within 30 days. Some information may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days before being permanently deleted.

You can at any time:
Update your name or email through your account settings
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
Export your calendar data by contacting us
Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
For California residents (CCPA) and EEA/UK residents (GDPR): you may request a copy of your data or its deletion by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.

Family Functions is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Family members listed within a shared family calendar may include children's event information entered by a parent or guardian. Parents are responsible for the information they enter on behalf of their children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of Family Functions after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
